II. IN PERSON TRAINING SESSIONS

Central Mississippi ARES holds monthly in-person meetings. Meetings include training, skill development, and an opportunity to demonstrate and have Taskbook requirements signed off on.

III. PUBLIC SERVICE EVENTS

Public Service Events provide an excellent opportunity for training, while serving the public, advertising our services, and creating good will between the community and the team. Central Mississippi ARES provides back up communications during events such as walk-a-thons, foot races, bicycle races, and parades.

IV. EXERCISES

Throughout the year our EC in charge of training will work in conjunction with each of our AECs to coordinate training exercises and surprise tests.

V. SIMULATED EMERGENCY TESTS

Every year, on a Saturday in August, we hold the annual ARRL/ARES Simulated Emergency Test. This event is designed to test our ARES teams and Nets during the simulation of a major emergency or disaster. Each ARES Team and each Net are graded on their performance of several important criteria during the SET. Participation in the annual SET is required of all members of Central Mississippi ARES.
